Foodies is a new initiative for 2016, building on the successful ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ initiative we ran in 2015.
Foodies inspires families to enjoy cooking together, enabling participants to improve their kitchen skills and build confidence. Built into the course, is the desire to develop a basic knowledge of food hygiene, what constitutes a healthy diet; it is a known fact that children who eat well, do well. We demonstrate that eating healthily does not have to be expensive, whilst developing the ability to budget effectively. In addition, we aim to develop communication within and between the families. Consequently, relationships develop, social isolation is reduced and social capitol is built.
Below are photos of the Let's Get Cooking project from 2015, they clearly show families enjoying the sessions.
We are looking forward to runnning more sessions like these for the families and so are the families.
