Fresh Start Community Association

  • Welcome!

We are a community project based in Brighton that aims to address social isolation and to create an environment that fosters the growth of competent citizenship in our community.

  • We provide safe, free facilities to promote healthy choices and strive to enable those who become part of our community.

  • It feels like community... unlike other community centres I have been to... It is unique!

The story of Fresh Start is largely the story of those we support. To understand us, you need to hear them. To see first hand how lives can be changed by fostering relationships in a community where for many there is nowhere else that offers the security required to build confidence and friendships. At heart we are a Brighton community project that aims to address social isolation and to create an environment that fosters the growth of competent citizenship in our community.

To understand what we do and why we need your help take a moment to follow our story. The effect of what we do can be seen in the teenagers who come back to help and the families who enjoy and share their experiences, free from the fear of being labelled or isolated . One of our key aims is to help children and where appropriate, their parents, break out of the cycle of dependency and find their own route to independence as a family. One of our key beliefs is that family builds community.
